There are some conditions that must be met before participants can go on a DOEHA trip. Prior to trips suitable training must be undertaken.

Requirements
BronzeA full weekend of activities and classroom based learning that covers all the basics a participant need to start their award. Courses run from 0830-1700 hrs on a Saturday and a Sunday. Participants must attend the whole weekend to complete the training. At the end of the training, participants will be prepared to embark on their Bronze practice trip. |
SilverThis course covers much of the Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award Adventurous Journey training over two days. The day usually runs from 0830-1700. At the end of the weekend, you will be ready to challenge for the rest of your practical training as part of your Silver practice journey. Participants must attend all sessions in class as well as a three-day journey. Once you have satisfactorily completed your practice trip you will be signed off for your training and practice journey and be ready to challenge for your Silver qualifier trip. |
GoldThis course covers much of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award Adventurous Journey training over two days; generally building on the Silver skills. The day usually runs from 0830-1700. At the end of the weekend, you will be ready to challenge for the rest of your practical training as part of your Gold practice journey. Participants must attend all sessions in class as well as a three-day journey.
